PHILOSOPHY OF
EDUCATION

Our Educational Program has been carefully curated to enhance each child's learning and development. We refer to our approved learning framework, 'Being, Belonging and Becoming; The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, V2.0' and the Litte Saints Philosophy to guide curriculum decision-making. Educators use a strong understanding of child development, early childhood theory and current research to underpin all decision-making.  It is child-centred and uses each child's strengths, knowledge, culture, abilities and interests as a foundation. We utilise all aspects of our program, including routines, as opportunities to scaffold learning through responsive, intentional teaching. Our program honours the child's voice and agency to inform it through decision-making and choices.

NATIONAL QUALITY FRAMEWORK

At Little Saints, we strive for best practice. We uphold the seven areas of the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework Vol.2. These guide us in our practices and in delivering quality learning to your child.

PLAY-BASED
LEARNING IS FUN

Play is a vital part of childhood and growing up. At Little Saints Preschool, we believe children learn much from outdoors in an environment with challenges and elements essential to well-rounded learning. Children learn to develop social, physical, and emotional skills through play. Children are naturally driven to play.
A play-based program uses this as a context for learning. Children can explore, experiment, solve problems, develop life skills, and discover creatively and playfully. Much research demonstrates how play-based learning improves children's academic and developmental learning results (Robertson, Morrissey, & Rouse, 2018).
Little Saints Preschool also provides extracurricular activities to provide various opportunities to learn and assist the child in developing and growing into independent learners ready for School.

Children have the opportunity to be involved in extracurricular education within the school, such as:

  • Chapels/ Assembly

  • Library and Other Learning Environments

  • Community Excursions

  • Early Transitions

  • Little Explorers
